GEDCOM does allow for a transmittal to include additional information that is not covered in a standard tag to be placed in at NOTE, but I think this is rather rare and tells us to do this rather than making up a tag. I call these "research notes", or "research comments" "The author of the document concluded this based on other information, which I have not yet found." "The birth date indicates that the child was born before the marriage, out of wedlock?" "The place was not spelled correctly and I changed it to be correct", "The date was hard to read so I guessed", "Comments or opinions from the submitter." However, I usually place stories or additional information in text form in media objects associated with the event.Īdditional information provided by the submitter for understanding the enclosing data. The standard fields does not allow to tell a story about what happened to the individual regarding this fact.
